About CAS-UK
A solidarity network built for difficult days
CAS-UK was formed by Cameroonians in the United Kingdom who wanted a better answer to bereavement emergencies. Instead of relying on rushed collections, we built a structured system: members register once, campaigns open with clear timelines, and contributions are tracked transparently until support reaches next of kin.
Who we are
Cameroon Solidarity UK (CAS-UK) is a non-governmental, apolitical, not-for-profit organisation.
What we do
Many in our community who are bereaved face a financial challenge to repatriate loved ones home. Too often the burden rests on close relatives despite help from friends. We provide a community response by registering and managing a database of Cameroonians living in the UK. Members contribute as little as £2 to raise up to £10,000 for the next of kin when a registered member passes away.
Our organisation and teams
We are a working group of members of Cameroon origin who bring knowledge, experience, and expertise in their fields. Teams include leadership, technical, marketing, and members—working together to drive CAS-UK forward and help registered members avoid the financial burden of repatriation costs.

Strategy
We work in partnership with Cameroonian associations, groups, and individuals in the UK. Members can register themselves or their group members free of charge. Children can be registered and contribute from as little as £0.20 per child. We also offer individual membership so students and those not in a group can benefit.
Our beliefs and values
We believe no Cameroonian in the UK should be denied the option of sending their remains to family back home. Transparency: our technical team has built a donation page where contributions are visible to members. Inclusive: our approach enables all Cameroonians to have the same rights and benefits.
Our promise
We will do what we can to bring Cameroonians in the UK together so that any compatriot who passes away can return home without placing a financial burden on their loved ones.
How we collect and pay contributions
When a member passes away, we open a campaign with clear information and a deadline. The system calculates each contribution and notifies members by email and text (including Telegram—we recommend installing Telegram and following the CAS-UK channel). Members log in to pay through a transparent portal. At the end of the campaign, funds are transferred to the next of kin; that information is kept confidential and can be updated by members at any time.
Finance
We rely on your generous donations to administer, maintain, and upgrade our systems.
Our story
In early 2017 the community faced consecutive losses. After the death of Victorine Nankam, the idea of this project was discussed; her family supported sharing it at her wake and at a follow-up meeting. Volunteers came forward and the working group was formed.
Partnership with associations and groups
Working with Cameroonian groups of every size is central to our strategy. Associations have often struggled to maintain social funds large enough for repatriation; our model helps relieve members from having to contribute very large sums to sustain those funds.
Our origin story
CAS-UK started as a practical conversation among community organisers: how do we protect families from the financial shock that follows sudden loss? The answer became a platform where accountability and compassion coexist. We keep records, eligibility checks, and contribution flows clear so trust can scale beyond one WhatsApp group or one local committee.
Mission
To coordinate fair, transparent community support for bereaved families with dignity and speed.
Vision
A connected diaspora where no family faces bereavement logistics alone.
